Junior Assistant Program
Program Director: Marcy Simpson
The Junior Assistant Program was developed as a mentorship opportunity for students who demonstrate a strong interest and drive to contribute within the dance classroom. Under the guidance of Marcy Simpson, the program provides a structured framework to help dancers understand their roles, responsibilities, and expectations. The program is built around four core focus areas:
- Enthusiasm & Professionalism
- Responsibility & Technique
- Communication
- Positive Role Modeling
Our goal is to use this internship as a meaningful opportunity for personal and professional growth. The dance season begins with a Junior Assistant meeting in September to establish expectations and open a line of communication between Marcy and the students she will be mentoring. Additionally, each assistant will receive an individual evaluation and check-in during both Session I and Session II.
