2025 Children’s Recital Showcase Information

Dress Rehearsal

Thursday June 12th at UB Center for the Arts, Mainstage
2:45-3:00pm - Arrive at UB please review additional information below
3:00-4:00pm - Dress Rehearsal with costumes, tights, shoes and accessories

After your dancer has rehearsed their piece on stage, please make sure to exit the theater through the side theater doors as there is an event being held in the atrium during dress rehearsal.

  • Children should arrive in their appropriate tights and costume with shoes ready to go. Dancers' hair style and makeup for the recital is recommended but not mandatory.
  • Please enter UB Center for the Arts through the main doors of the facility and head directly downstairs. At this time you will be directed by our staff to the theater
  • All dancers need to be seated in the theatre with their guardian in their designated areas no later than 2:55pm (each class will be clearly labeled)
  • Once dress rehearsal begins, classes will be called into the hallway prior to entering stage. After they perform, students will be escorted back to their guardians in the audience. You are welcome to leave after your child returns to their seat
  • We recommend you find your dressing rooms at some point during dress rehearsal. This will make for an easier recital day
  • Please make sure to label all of your child's costumes and shoes

Children's Recital Showcase

Since your child will be performing on Friday evening there will be no classes held on Saturday, June 14th. The studio will hold an additional full week of classes after our recital weekend running Monday, June 16th through Saturday, June 21st.

Friday June 13th at UB Center for the Arts, Mainstage
4:15pm-4:30pm - Cast Call for ALL dancers
4:45pm - House Opens
5:00pm - Show will promptly begin (show time is approximately 40 minutes)

  • Dancers are to arrive through UB Center for the Arts main doors and immediately report downstairs to their designated dressing rooms. For our student's safety all dancers must be signed in and out by either a parent or guardian. NO EXCEPTIONS
  • Dancers should arrive in costume with hair and makeup completed
  • Please assist your child with putting on dance shoes before you leave
  • Please be aware there will be no entering or exiting during the performance. This is to respect the dancers who are performing as well as maintaining the professionalism of our show
  • Only water bottles are permitted in the dressing rooms. To ensure the safety of our students with food allergies NO food is allowed
  • To ensure an organized and safe protocol, ONLY 1 parent or guardian is permitted to sign out your child

Backstage Lineup and Supervision

Our Children's Recital Showcase will be fully supervised by SM Dance teachers and staff. This allows all parents and family to enjoy the show.

Recital Tickets

This is a ticketed event with assigned seating. All audience members are required to purchase a ticket (with the exception of children who are small enough to sit on the lap of an adult). You will recieve an email when tickets go on sale on Friday, May 30th with the option to purchase online or at the UB Box Office during their scheduled business hours. This venue easily accommodates all of our studio families, therefore there is no limit to the amount of tickets you can purchase.
