Dancing at Sherry Martin throughout my own childhood instilled so many foundational and happy memories. I wanted my children to share that same experience and I was pleased to find that this dance studio is still that nurturing and community oriented space. My daughters have found so much joy and confidence here over the past four years. This is a studio that truly focuses on the love of movement and appreciation of self and individuals. We've been part of the Sherry Martin family for more than a decade, and what started as simply looking for a dance studio has become so much more than we ever expected. It is a community that comes alongside each child, helping them grow in confidence while celebrating who they uniquely are.
What has always stood out to us about Sherry Martin is the studio's unwavering commitment to helping shape not only strong dancers, but kind, respectful, and compassionate human beings. We have two daughters, Mila (16) and Eliana (8), and watching them flourish here has been such a gift. Despite their age difference, Sherry Martin has always met each of them exactly where they are. The studio has an incredible ability to meet children where they are at every stage. Every class and program is thoughtfully designed to be age-appropriate, allowing each child to be challenged, celebrated, and inspired to love dance.

What makes Sherry Martin truly special is that success is never measured by technique alone. They intentionally encourage kindness, humility, and resilience in every student. They teach teamwork, respect, perseverance, and compassion alongside every plié and leap. They celebrate each child's strengths while gently guiding them through challenges.

As parents, there's something incredibly comforting about knowing your children are surrounded by people who genuinely care about their hearts just as much as their dancing. That has always been one of the things we've admired most about Sherry Martin.

We are incredibly grateful for the role Sherry Martin has played in our daughters' lives. They've gained beautiful dance training, but just as importantly, they've gained lifelong friendships, wonderful mentors, and a community that has helped shape who they are today. For the past seven years, we’ve happily made the 25-minute drive from Lancaster to Williamsville because SM Dance is worth every mile. The love, encouragement, and sense of community we’ve experienced here are unlike anything else. My 13 year dance career, from when I was 5 years old until the end of high school, was spent at Sherry Martin Dance. I made so many friends and always looked forward to going to class a few times a week. When I heard that Yvonne and Kelly (my long-time teacher) were buying the studio, I knew this was more than just a dance studio. It was a place where people built lasting connections and followed their passions. The studio would continue to teach new generations of dancers to explore creativity and be a local community establishment. When my daughter turned 5 and asked to start dance classes, I knew exactly where I wanted her to go and it has been the best decision. Ellery has called this studio home since she was just two years old, starting in a Mommy & Me class. What began as a fun activity has grown into one of the most meaningful parts of her life, and we feel incredibly grateful to have watched her grow up surrounded by such caring teachers and mentors.

Over the years, Sherry Martin has continually recognized her potential, giving her opportunities to challenge herself and explore experiences beyond her age group. They have believed in her, encouraged her to take risks, and helped her discover what she is capable of – all while making sure she always felt supported.

Sherry Martin has an incredible way of balancing technical excellence with artistry, while never losing sight of what really matters. They expect their dancers to work hard and strive for their best, but they also teach them to lead with kindness, encourage one another, and celebrate each other’s successes. Looking back over the past seven years, we are so thankful that our daughter has grown up in a place that shaped not only the dancer she has become, but also the kind, compassionate, young person she is today. We truly couldn’t imagine a better place for her to call her second home.

When our daughter was just 3 years old, she danced in her very first recital during one of the most difficult and heartbreaking seasons our family has ever faced. The entire Sherry Martin Dance team surrounded us with love, compassion, and support in ways we will never forget. Our family was initially hesitant about dance, for reasons familiar to anyone who didn't grow up dancing. We were so fortunate to have found Sherry Martin. Yvonne and Kelly have cultivated a welcoming and inclusive environment where the dancers cultivate fun and confidence alongside stellar technique. All the teachers are patient, kind, and knowledgeable. Miss Kayla stands out as a true talent both in dance and in teaching. I look forward to the annual recital; and not just to see my daughter - it's truly an impressive and enjoyable show. I'm not sure how they do it, but they make sure that every dancer gets a chance to stand out, and their dancers come away feeling proud of their performance and excited to practice more. I'm so glad we didn't let our hesitation keep us away. Sherry Martin has been a gift to my daughter and our family.

Kelly, Yvonne and their entire team of outstanding dance instructors always have our girls’ growth and best interests at heart. We have seen tremendous personal and skill-based growth in all three of our daughters throughout their time dancing at Sherry Martin! They have become confident, dedicated, passionate dancers under the instruction and guidance offered by staff. The girls have made incredible friends and genuinely look forward to dance each day! There is such a strong camaraderie among all of the dancers whether they are in class together or not and regardless of age/skill level. Sherry Martin has been a second home for my two daughters for the past decade. The studio and teachers have provided a safe, inclusive, non-competitive and encouraging space for them to learn and grow as dancers as well as friends and members of a community.
